Sr. Developer<BR>12 months<BR>Hawthorne, NY<BR><BR>Project Description: We need someone with advanced development skills, good teamwork, and the ability to work independently on tasks.<BR><BR>Financier is a Web based tool for predicting the value distribution for software development projects and portfolios. &nbsp;A core goal of the tool is making building value models of projects and portfolios as simple and intuitive as possible, while retaining the use of advanced simulation techniques within the tool. &nbsp;As such, there are many active research threads within the project. &nbsp;The tool uses predicted streams of both project benefits and costs as a basis for computing a net present value (NPV) and return on investment (ROI) for projects and portfolios. &nbsp;The streams are captured as simple random variables, and the resulting NPV and ROI are computed using Monte Carlo methods and are also presented as a random variable. &nbsp; This allows users to understand the range of likely values and level of financial risk associated with an investment. &nbsp;While the core capabilities already exist in the prototype, we are at the point in the project where we need to add several advanced features to the tool and do several architectural refactorings to ready the tool for integration with IBM products that could potentially ship its capabilities. &nbsp;The tool is built using a 3-tier architecture, with Java on the persistence and simulation/control tiers, and Javascript on the presentation tier. &nbsp; <BR><BR>Contract duration: 1 year <BR><BR>Required skills: &nbsp;We are looking for a skilled developer who is comfortable taking ownership of one or more features within an exploratory project. &nbsp;Comfort in dealing with innovative projects that push the boundaries of existing technologies is essential for success, and strong teamwork skills are a must. &nbsp;Required technical skills are (1) expert in Dojo with experience creating custom widgets, (2) expert in JavaScript, (3) proficiency in CSS, XML, JSON and RESTful Web services, and (4) the ability to take mathematical algorithms from a member of our mathematics team and code it up using the appropriate language constructs. &nbsp;Proficiency in Java is also desirable.&nbsp;&nbsp; <BR>df-lj More...
