RN Case Manager POSITION SUMMARY: Assist in the resolution of complex Workers' Compensation, Short and Long-term disability claims. Resolution may include return to work activities, facilitating medical care with providers and the Employer's health care plans, and achieving directed case management strategy outcomes. Claim resolution may involve working directly with the Employer, Attorneys, Investigators, Rehabilitation Counselors, the employee, the treatment provider and other professionals assigned to the claim. This job has no supervisory responsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Handle the most complex claims in case management using the latest technology to manage an assigned caseload from the investigation of the claim through resolution Responsible for a wide range of activities requiring discretion and independent judgment. Position includes telephonic and onsite activities to assist employees in returning to work. Consults and advises disability staff on medical elements associated with disability claims. Evaluates nature, status, duration and validity of disability claim modified duty programs for injured claimants. Establish action plan based on case facts, best practices, protocols, regulatory issues and available resources. Makes decisions about liability/ compensability, evaluates losses, and negotiates settlements. Requests and investigates all appropriate sources of information to make accurate and ongoing disability determinations. Assists with special projects and staff training programs. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Performs related work as assigned. These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed.
